About JENGE Academy
JENGE Academy is a knowledge and capacity-building initiative that looks to provide young African Creators and Innovators with the knowledge, skills, support, and opportunities they need to build sustainable livelihoods while contributing to impactful social change in their communities.
Why JENGE Academy?
JENGE Academy works toward economic and civic empowerment for Africa’s youth. The project responds to the challenge of unemployment and underemployment among Africa’s youth by helping young creators and innovators build the skills and knowledge to establish and grow thriving enterprises and careers while contributing to impactful social change.
The Teach-Coach-Connect Model
We employ a 3-pronged approach/model for building the knowledge, skill, resilience and social responsibility that produces empowered and well-rounded youth. Our model involves 3 key stages: Teach, Coach/Mentor and Connect.
TEACH
We begin by providing knowledge, skills and resources to young creators and innovators through in-person and virtual training workshops and courses.
COACH
We coach and mentor emerging creators & innovators, helping them navigate the challenges that come with establishing and growing their enterprises, careers & social impact initiatives.
CONNECT
We also help connect the creators and innovators to opportunities for work and business.
